April 6, 2019: It apparently is not a April Fool’s joke, as the South course at Philmont is not reopening this season. Of course the excellent North course, designed by Willie Park, Jr, is alive and well. It is sad to hear the South course is no more as Hugh Wilson played a role in the design of some of it, in particular the 10th and 11th holes.
