Friends of Cobb's Creek Golf Course
Founded in 2008 by local Philadelphia-area golfers with an interest in unearthing, preserving, disseminating, and restoring the rich, multi-cultural history of this historic venue, the Friends of Cobb’s Creek Golf Course have published a course history book, “Cobb’s Creek Golf Course – Unearthing a Treasure” as a vehicle to share the amazing personal sporting and cultural histories surrounding the venue that had previously been largely lost to time.
The Friends also raise private donations in a nationally-publicized effort to work with the City of Philadelphia and local volunteers in an effort to restore the golf course to its original configuration as well as modernize it to meet the needs of the local golf community for the next century.
The Friends are led by Dr. Joseph Bausch, a Chemistry professor at Villanova University and Mike Cirba, an Information Management Executive for Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network.
